International TA Leader with global projects - Frankfurt region, Germany

This company continues to cycle through significant growth, having already carved out a healthy niche in their market, and have further plans for aggressive expansion, both organic and through acquisition. At this time, they need an expert to help integrate a workforce inherited (via a historic acquisition) into the broader global group - someone who can support their own TA team and HR colleagues in harmonising terms, conditions, benefits, technologies, process and policy; all with a consultative approach, that results in the best from both worlds.

This person needs to focus on bringing pockets of workforces together to create a “one company” culture with a “this is how we do it here together” culture.

The acquiring company are seeking sensitivity for the integration, with no interest in disrupting operations or losing key talent. And the acquired workforces are needing high levels of support to understand the potential of different work practices, leadership styles and performance expectations, but also to identify the new career pathways that are open to them.

Reporting into both Business Executives and a Corporate TA leader, this person will focus on:

  • tweaking TA frameworks to enable diverse and commercially sustainable company growth,

  • risk management for employment legislation compliance and labor law interpretation,

  • integration support across a number of sites in Germany, and also for other planned acquisitions and joint venture enterprises across Europe

  • tailoring global TA policy, process and tools to suit regional stakeholders plus regulatory differences in a variety of countries

This role will particularly suit a TA professional who can offer solutions with reasoning and influence through facts and data, rather than the recruitment leader who is busy being busy on tasks and policy policing, without the ability for “future state” thinking.

Again, as with many companies experiencing extreme growth in addition to an HR transformation agenda, there is a need for this person to have a “jack of all trades” mindset - there will be no shortage of change, ambiguity, critical projects and “all hands to the pump” moments.

Ideally, this person will be able to regularly attend sites in the Frankfurt area, although a hybrid work model otherwise exists to allow for work-from-home flex as well. We are mindful that the level of necessary engagement and sponsorship for change management will mean “water cooler” moments are particularly critical for the foreseeable future. Occasional (and planned in advance) regional and international travel is expected, so a current passport and full Covid vaccination status will be essential to gain access to countries with this requirement.

The “wish list” for hiring criteria is very reasonable, inclusive of:

  • Fluent German and English written and verbal language skills.

  • A working knowledge of German Works Councils and ideally some awareness of multi-jurisdictional labor laws across Europe and the UK

  • A history of leading TA teams and working as a trusted partner to HR teams

  • Advanced project management skills, potentially with formal project management methodology qualifications

  • A track record for successfully working through the complex matrix and reporting structures of a multinational company

  • Advanced commercial savvy with an ability to find solutions that match business needs

  • Courage to influence and stand your ground whilst demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence

  • Current EU or UK citizenship.

This high profile role will attract a base salary of circa EUR 140,000 (depending on expertise level) plus a hefty performance bonus, and if the company continues on its growth trajectory, there is no shortage of opportunity for the role to broaden further in scope and/or for this person to be moved to new regional locations.
