HR Leader - Germany - Health sector

ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER

If you enjoy the variety of an all-round HR generalist role, this role with a growing global health sector company might be just the thing to “keep you on your toes”. As the leader of key sites featuring specialist technical and corporate function staff, you’ll be working to inspire, educate and support management teams who are new to receiving proactive HR business partnership. You’ll be working with an international HR VP to build robust HR frameworks, designed to drive a culture of innovation combined with sustainable, profitable, and ethical growth. And you’ll be leading on key hiring activity for scientific staff, whilst building employer branding campaigns, introducing social media tools, designing assessment methodologies, and implementing talent pipelining strategies that can be utilised globally as the company plans to grow both organically as well as through additional acquisitions.

This is a wide-ranging role with many priorities inclusive of:

  • Business partnering support to key corporate, multinational executives within Germany

  • Creation of local HR processes that have international consistency (you will also be expected to contribute along with peers in developing commercial HR strategy for the company).

  • Creation of talent management frameworks to maximise attraction, engagement, retention, performance, succession plans, effective mentoring and knowledge transfer, and internal promotions

  • Ensuring robust adherence for regulatory compliance and company values, particularly for ethics and quality

  • Creation of integration processes to bring consistency and parity to recently acquired companies and to “settle” in future acquisitions

  • Maintaining effective Works Council relationships based on partnership and proactivity

  • Leadership development and coaching for business leaders with a range of tenure and skills

  • Working with international peers to create an HR function that is consistent in approach, and able to influence through facts and data with a solutions focussed mindset.

You’ll need to be the kind of HR leader who thrives in a complex, matrix work environment, who is constantly looking for ways to add commercial value to the business, and who enjoys the challenges of juggling local and international work priorities. You’ll also be the kind of leader who understands the unique challenges of an entrepreneurial culture - “building the airplane whilst flying it”, and everyone needing everything from you “yesterday”! This is still a “young” company, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with ambiguity, limited process maturity, and handling your own administration (advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills will be very useful!)

With key leaders based in the Frankfurt and Heidelberg areas, there is an appetite for this HR leader to be physically present at either or both locations on a daily basis, although some flexibility for working from home is feasible. On offer is a base salary from EUR 90,000 (depending on experience level) plus annual performance bonus. Relocation support is also potentially available within Germany for current EU citizens.  Advanced knowledge of German employment laws is essential as are fluent English and German language skills
