Global Sales Compensation Consultant - flex work

ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER

Rethink, reshape, redesign.  Why do we do it this way?  What do we need to be relevant for the future?  What do we need to do beyond gimmicks to be truly relevant to our workforces, and desirable to target talent? Why aren’t we trying “new”?  Are our plans driving the right behaviors and delivering sustainable ROI? How do we attract, engage and retain exceptional talent and continue to keep everyone motivated? How do we recognize performance beyond simply revenues achieved? What should we be considering to accommodate cultural differences in our workforces scattered across the world? These are just some of the priorities for this role!

We're seeking a technically advanced Compensation specialist who is open to throwing all the traditional rules “out of the window” to design, create and embed compensation frameworks that will aid this niche technology company to continue to be an employer of choice for years to come.

This organization has a suite of products and services that allow the company to continue to grow, both organically and through acquisition. The sales force is significant in size, and the executive team are acutely mindful that current “one size fits all” comp programs do not motivate or reward everyone with transparency and fairness. With a multi-generational, multicultural workforce, they are also conscious that their comp programs are not necessarily desirable to all demographics, and there are questions on whether current plans are market competitive whilst driving desired results.

This is a high-profile role, liaising on a daily basis with sales leaders, board executives, business unit leaders, plus various HR and corporate functional teams. Reporting into an inspiring VP of Total Reward, this person will have direct access to key decision-makers to shape policy strategy.

As the in-house expert consulting expert, this person will have access to a finance team who will support in plan payment calculations and administration; freeing this person to concentrate on design, thought leadership, modeling, testing, and consultations.

This person will ideally be based from the Framingham area of Massachusetts, with flex for a blend of home and office working. Base salary of circa US$180,000, with a package inclusive of annual performance bonus, LTIP and hefty benefits, along with relocation support if required.  Some travel across the US, Asia and Europe on a planned basis is to be expected.

This will be a fabulous challenge for a Compensation specialist seeking increased levels of scope and responsibiities, along with genuine opportunites to broaden into Executive Compensation and/or to lead the broader global Compensation team entirely.

  • Experience in working across multiple countries will be ideal although it not essential - most important is a multinational, multicultural mindset.

  • A first-hand understanding of complex, matrix organisations will be essential.

  • Interest and/or track record of inspiring and developing teams, and partnering successfully with teams outside of their direct control.

  • An advanced commercial acumen will be key (and will be tested - we expect this person to be able to provide P&L impact evidence measuring the success of their compensation plan design initiatives).

  • Advanced written and verbal English will be essential for this person to present credibly with gravitas to executive level stakeholders globally.

  • Current US or green card holders will be considered for this role AND we do have options to support work visa sponsorship from UK and EU citizens.
