Global HR Systems and Services Director - UK, Asia, or USA

Managing a large international team and a significant budget, this expert HR technology leader will own the global agenda for technical innovation and HRIS utilisation to enable HR initiatives inclusive of Future of Work, data consistency and security, remote working and digitalisation efficiencies.

REMIT CHALLENGES: This was a high profile new role in the organisation with significant C-suite sponsorship, focusing on adoption and buy in from an array of international stakeholders, for new technologies that would cause significant change to work processes and potentially to job content of HR team members. There was also a need to ensure full engagement and appropriate user experience for diverse work-forces, some in areas where access to internet was unreliable. The team to be led was remote and variable in capability. This was a critical hire for the business as the digitalisation of HR services were regarded as essential to enable continued efficiencies for company growth and global market competitiveness.

HIRING CHALLENGES: Digital expertise plus extensive multi jurisdictional experience within the HR profession is not common, and securing a commercially savvy leader with deep technology knowledge, strong multicultural awareness and proven international experience combined with thorough knowledge of HR operations leaves a very small talent pool! We were looking for someone who could inspire, consult, innovate, lead from the front and who wasn’t afraid to have difficult conversations across the whole business. This person also needed proven financial acumen and project management expertise for the management of multi-million dollar projects.

SOLUTION: Our search spanned across both our in-house and consultancy networks around the world, and we identified 3 exceptional professionals who were wooed to consider this post despite being highly challenged and valued with their current employers. Within 4 weeks of starting our search an offer was made and accepted without hassle, thanks to our extensive pre-offer preparation and clear communication of expectations to both parties. The successful candidate has been in role for nearly a year and has already been identified as high performance talent within the organisation, and is successfully delivering on a range of projects around the world.
