Remit challenge: This was a critical hire for this double digit growth company, who recognised that their accelerated expansion had left holes for immigration compliance, expat consistency, and cost inefficiencies. With the company growth strategy linked to opening and staffing up in new markets, we needed to appoint someone with diverse jurisdictional knowledge, spanning taxation, immigration, and administration processes; in addition to offering thought leadership on best practice mobility operational frameworks, and tools to help expats and their families to overcome culture and integration challenges to enable their success in new work markets.

Hiring Challenges: There was a huge amount of interest in this wide ranging senior level role so being able to effectively assess the sheer numbers of interested parties within a very tight time frame whilst ensuring we could maintain our thorough evaluation process was challenging. A significant number of applicants claimed a breadth of expertise that they actually didn’t have - our team luckily had the technical knowledge to quiz people at length beyond what was noted on their CV’s and resumes.
