Employee Relations Lead - Sweden

We’re partnering with a mission-driven global organisation that is genuinely improving and saving lives. This role is ideal for an experienced Labour & Employee Relations professional looking to step into a highly visible, high-impact position.

As the subject matter expert for Swedish employment law and workplace relations, you’ll partner with HR and senior business leaders across major production sites in Sweden. You’ll lead on complex casework, provide risk mitigation advice during organisational change, resolve individual and collective grievances, and build strong relationships with unions and Works Councils.

The organisation has already made significant progress in reducing ER risk and strengthening its reputation as an employer of choice. This role is focused on continuing that journey, taking a proactive, preventative approach rather than reacting to issues after they arise.

Reporting to the VP of Labour & Employee Relations, you’ll play a key role in supporting transformation, growth, and organisational change, including both organic expansion and acquisitions. This is a role where you’ll shape outcomes - not just manage cases.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Building on the company’s strong ER foundations by proactively identifying and preventing issues

  • Leading complex casework and providing expert guidance on Swedish employment law

  • Leading the negotiation and drafting of collective bargaining agreements, and developing and maintaining trusted relationships with unions and Works Councils across Sweden and the Nordics

  • Delivering pragmatic, commercially focused ER advice to senior stakeholders

  • Using ER data and insights to identify trends and drive proactive, evidence-led initiatives

  • Designing and delivering training programmes to build management capability and foster an inclusive workplace

Our ideal professional will be able to offer:

  • Solid career history and proven ER/LR experience within mid-to-large, international, matrixed organisations

  • Deep expertise in Swedish employment law and Works Council engagement

  • Experience negotiating collective agreements

  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset

  • High attention to detail across ER processes, programmes, and reporting

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience supporting both blue- and white-collar populations

  • Fluency in Swedish and English

The package includes a base salary from SEK 70,000 per month (potential to increase depending on expertise level) plus benefits. Relocation support is available.

This is not a remote work arrangement, this professional will need to be a visible, inspiring and supportive presence on-site (commutable from Stockholm) 5-days a week.

We do have a broader “wish list” of criteria and would be happy to discuss these with interested professionals.

If this sounds like the challenge you’ve been seeking for your next career move, please do make contact directly and in confidence today.
