VP Talent – East Coast based

As a global innovator, this company develops products that enhance people’s wellbeing around the world. Years of strategic R&D investments and acquisitions have created a robust portfolio of offerings. Following sustained double-digit growth and record revenues, the business is now entering a phase of operational maturity, focusing on streamlining processes, reduce duplications, boosting efficiency, and realising economies of scale across the organization.

Alongside the broader transformation, there is a need to evolve, modernise and drive the talent agenda to support future growth and meet the organization’s evolving talent requirements.

As a result, we are seeking a leader to take enterprise-wide ownership of Talent & Culture strategy across Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Workforce Planning. This role will be instrumental in enabling the company to invest in workforce capabilities through consistent tools and frameworks, fostering a culture of ongoing innovation while supporting the skills development and career growth ambitions of employees.

Reporting to this role is an experienced team of direct and indirect reports, with the incumbent serving as the organization’s talent thought leader, proactively advising C-‑suite and board-level executives. Key priorities include inspiring and developing the wider talent team, while designing and executing strategies across technical training, competency frameworks, succession planning, cross-functional and cross-cultural learning, mobility, leadership development, and more.

The workforce is scattered over various locations across the globe and whilst there is clearly an appetite for Talent interventions, we expect the demand for programs, tools and solutions may quickly exceed the ability to supply - a nice problem for this person to be tackling!

With significant numbers of the workforce being made up of engineering, science, and commercial sales specialists, in addition to production and supply chain teams, the provision of robust and relevant Talent initiatives will be a key advantage for talent attraction, retention and ongoing engagement, in a highly competitive employment market.

This is a data-driven commercial environment where ROI is key, so we need a professional who can influence through analytics rather than pure emotion; and who can comfortably anticipate measurable commercial improvements as a result of Talent Management interventions.

Key at all times will be the tailoring of regional frameworks whilst ensuring global consistency, fairness, efficiency and transparency.

Our ideal professional will have

  • a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of multinational companies with a first-hand understanding of what “great” Talent entails.

  • led large scale transformation programs.

  • owned the enterprise-wide, or a significant business unit Talent agenda for science, engineering, and commercial sales workforces. Experience as an HR Business Partner is also highly valued.

  • advanced commercial acumen.

  • an ability to deal with “sooner rather than later” as the constant deadline expectation.

  • advanced written and verbal English, and fluency for any other languages will be welcomed.

  • executive level presentation skills.

  • ideally worked whilst living across multiple countries, either as an expat or as a global citizen.

We have a “wish list” of additional criteria that we’re happy to share with proven Talent Leaders.

This Individual will need to be based near one of the organisation’s East Coast locations. The role will require regular, well-planned travel across the United States and internationally to strengthen relationships both with the team reporting into this position and with a broad range of additional stakeholders.

A base salary of up to $375,000 plus package is on offer with genuine options to progress laterally and vertically within the company.

Interested Talent leaders can apply directly and in confidence below.  We are hosting interviews currently with a view to extending an employment offer in the coming weeks.
