Senior Director Global Talent Management - East Coast USA

This company is in the business of improving people’s health and saving lives.

Years of strategic R&D investment and a series of acquisitions have created a robust portfolio of offerings. Now, following sustained double-digit growth and record revenues, the business is undergoing extensive reorganisation across all business divisions, to achieve economies of scale, global consistency, streamlined processes, duplication reduction, and boosted efficiency across the organization.

Alongside this wide ranging transformation agenda, there is a need to evolve, modernise and drive the talent agenda to support future growth and meet the organization’s evolving talent requirements.

As a result, we are seeking a leader to take organisational ownership of talent strategies that drive scientific innovation, operational excellence, and commercial competitiveness. Leading a small team, this Senior Director will design and execute integrated talent management practices that result in identification of high-potential talent, robust succession planning, workforce planning inclusive of strategic mobility, and skills development.

Reporting into a VP of Talent, this person will have direct access to the CHRO, HR Leadership Team and senior business leaders; and will be developing capability insight reports for the Board - these stakeholders are cognizant that the company’s growth strategy can only be achieved by driving strong leadership pipelines, improving critical capability depth, and developing future-ready talent.

The workforce is scattered over various locations across the globe and whilst there is clearly an appetite for talent interventions, we expect the demand for programs, tools and solutions may quickly exceed the ability to supply - a nice problem for this person to be tackling, especially when the company has the resources to increase support for your agenda.

This is an organisation that welcomes data led decision making, so this leader will also need to mobilise resources to monitor external trends and benchmarks, establish talent analytics and KPIs to track pipeline health and impact and ensure strong governance and consistency in talent processes globally - all of which will help you to provide insights and recommendations to executive leaders and the Board.

This role has potential to increase in scope and seniority within the Talent Management specialism and/or to take on a broader HR leadership role and/or to segue into a business role.

Success in this role will be assisted by:

  • a work history of specialist roles spanning Talent Management, HR Strategy and Leadership Development

  • experience in science driven, regulated industries where you have directly supported research and development, technical, and commercial workforces

  • measurable success for succession planning, high-potential development and skills based talent development

  • advanced business acumen with an ability to link talent to pipeline and performance outcomes

  • proven ability to achieve results within complex global, matrixed organizations experiencing organisational change

  • a natural focus to drive accountability and continuous improvement

We have a “wish list” of additional criteria that we’re happy to share with proven Talent Leaders.

Ideally you will be based near one of the organisation’s East Coast locations. We expect the role will require occasional, advance-planned travel across the USA and internationally to strengthen relationships with a broad range of additional stakeholders.

On offer is a base salary of circa $260,000 plus package and relocation support if required.

Interested talent leaders can apply directly and in confidence below.  We are hosting interviews currently with a view to extending an employment offer in the coming weeks.
