Senior Director Global HRBP - Research and Development

This mission driven international company has built a strong portfolio of products and services as a result of sustained R&D investment, complementary mergers, and key acquisitions. Following a period of double-digit growth and record revenues, this company is now working through a transformation agenda to achieve operational maturity via reducing duplications, streamlining to gain quality consistencies, and maximising economies of scale.

As a part of this transformation agenda, the HR function is focussed on upgrading service capabilities, thus driving this need for an accomplished HR Business Partner to be an inspiring leader in supporting key R&D communities globally. Leading a small team in this high-profile role, this person will in addition have access to an array of CofE’s; and as a key member of the global HR senior leadership team, this person is expected to be a key contributor to shaping and continuously upgrading a global HR agenda.  Immediate challenges in this role include supporting business leaders to drive quality through clinical trials, product innovation, operational efficiencies, and an innovative talent attraction, management and retention agenda. All within a backdrop of extensive organisational restructure and change.

Ideally, this HR leader will offer expertise in:

  • the various workforce challenges across the R&D unit, inclusive of research and process engineering, regulatory compliance, quality control and potential AI applications.

  • successful collaborations with third-party R&D providers and distributors; so bringing strategic insights into achieving commercially sustainable partnerships.

  • the unique nuances of working within regulated environments, ideally with a focus on scientific or broader STEM workforces within the healthcare sectors.

  • being the “go-to” expert who is a trusted advisor to an array of stakeholders, the proactive partner who anticipates demand and risk, and the professional who remains calm, thoughtful and focussed on delivering tangible results despite organisational upheaval.

  • commercial acumen along with credible leadership presence, and the ability to deal with “yesterday” as the constant deadline expectation!

  •  working within a “can do” company culture.

  •  influencing through data and factual reasoning, rather than emotion without evidence.

  • board level verbal and written presentations.

Additional considerations:

A stable, salaried career history that shows clear career progression and professional development will be well regarded. This company has a proven culture of respecting and caring for its employees - these values are hardwired into the DNA of its C-suite team.  We have worked with this organization repeatedly as they’ve grown over the years, and can vouch for high-performance leaders across the HR function being given “stretch” projects, formal development opportunities, and promotions based on merit rather than tenure.

Given the location of key partners, this person will ideally be located within a commutable distance to one of the organization’s East Coast locations within Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania; and should expect regular (but well-planned travel) across the United States and internationally. Relocation within the U.S. will be considered; however, international work visa sponsorship is not available. Also unfortunately, career contractors will not be considered at this time.

The role offers a competitive and negotiable package, with a base salary from US$250,000 plus STIP, LTIP and an array of useful benefits.

Interviews are being scheduled quickly with a view to an employment offer being extended before end of April 2026 - this company is highly motivated to secure a high performance HR leader with a maximum of efficiency!
