Senior Director HRBP – Commercial, Switzerland

After years of accelerated growth driven by acquisitions and new market entry, the company has more recently been through a series of transformation and consolidation projects, in order to achieve economies of scale, global consistency and fairness. Now, this multinational employer is seeking an HR leader with deep experience in supporting commercial workforces within regulated environments to drive ongoing market expansion, operational efficiencies, and an innovative talent management agenda. This newly created role will be supported by a small team and an array of Centres of Excellence; with a mandate to elevate HR business partnering to "the next level" across complex business units that are of critical global importance to this company.

Acting as the "go-to" HR partner for the Commercial leadership team, this person will have competing priorities inclusive of:

  • driving reward and recognition levers to ensure ongoing commercial results, competitive success, and ethical behaviours

  • partnering with business executives to drive ongoing organisational redesign projects

  • designing and delivering talent strategies that support business priorities and accelerate growth

  • supporting on regional restructures to achieve global frameworks consistency whilst still maintaining local regulatory compliance

  • facilitating employee engagement and talent retention after a recent period of extensive organisational and leadership change

  • inspiring and developing an up and coming HR team

  • driving utilisation of a self-service model to reduce operational HR queries

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • a history of successfully partnering with global B2B commercial leaders within regulated environments, and support to ideally scientifically minded workforces

  • advanced commercial acumen, with an ability to read a P&L and interpret a the story behind the balance sheet

  • a credible leadership presence, and the ability to deal with "now" as the constant deadline expectation

  • direct experience in working within a "can do" company culture

  • well-rounded expertise for all the specialty areas of HR, including a passion for developing talent at all levels

  • demonstrated success operating effectively in a complex, matrixed global organization

  • a track record for delivering solutions to enable effective organisational change

  • natural ability to influence through data and factual reasoning, rather than emotion without evidence - these stakeholders have an expectation for data-driven insights and qualified research analysis to support decisions on market trends, talent strategies, and reward recommendations

  • global mindset and the ability to navigate and influence across diverse cultures

  • advanced knowledge of international labour laws and employment practices

  • advanced English - it will be essential for both written and verbal presentations to executive leaders; and any additional languages will be highly regarded

  • a stable, salaried career history that shows clear career progression and professional development; unfortunately, career contractors will not be considered at this time

This person will offer well-rounded HR expertise and a track record for delivering sustainable results. A history of living within other countries whilst managing multi-market responsibilities will be highly regarded.

Ideally this individual will need to be based within commutable distance to key stakeholders in Zurich. A hybrid work arrangement in place and relocation support is offered, with a base salary from CHF240,000 plus benefits. Alternatively, we have an option to base the role within other key European locations, on the proviso this person can attend Zurich on a regular basis within each week.
