UK HR Director - Business Partner, hybrid

This interesting and varied role will offer many challenges for an HR leader who is motivated by continuous improvement and who thrives in a complex, matrixed, multicultural work environment. It will be ideal for the modern HR thinker who is constantly looking for ways to add measurable commercial value to the business and is comfortable working with senior leadership teams and Board level stakeholders.

This well-established company is going through a cycle of change following a large acquisition with post integration activities taking place across the business and desire to upgrade their commercial approaches to market.   As a result, this HR leader will be relied upon heavily to review HR capability across the UK and Ireland workforce, to help with various change management projects, in addition to providing counsel on employee relations risks, organisational re-design, plus talent attraction & retention.

This person will also focus on developing, inspiring, and leading a small HR team supporting an employee population in the Nordic and Baltics regions of Europe.

There is no shortage of additional projects to be worked through including:

  • Maintaining effective union relationships based on partnership and proactivity.

  • Alignment of local HR processes with global HR strategy (and direct contributions to the wider commercial HR strategy for the parent company).

  • Workforce planning optimisation to maximise productivity, manage succession plans, and create effective knowledge transfer and pension management.

  • Creation of a long-term Talent Acquisition and Management strategy (further growth cannot happen without hiring additional employees and investing in their professional development and career pathways)

  • Leadership development and coaching for management teams at each location (who currently have a range of tenure and skills).

This HR leader needs to be a visible presence on the UK site. Relationship building is paramount, as well as building the profile of the HR function across the site and business leaders. As a result, our hiring execs are keen to secure a leader who is based within an easy commute to their Staffordshire site with ad hoc travel to other key European sites. Hybrid working arrangement available.

The package includes a base salary from £100,000 (potential to increase depending on expertise level) plus benefits. Advanced knowledge of UK employment law is essential, and background within an COE is highly desired. Exposure to other European market nuances and additional European language skills would be welcomed. A UK employment contract will be issued, so only applicants with current UK work visa/residency rights will be eligible.

If this sounds like the challenge you've been seeking for your next career move, please do make contact directly and in confidence today - interviews are being scheduled currently, with a view to an employment offer being extended in the coming weeks.
