Global VP HR – Change and Transformation Agenda | US-Based

Expert HR partner to report into a newly appointed COO, tasked with evaluating, harmonizing, and future-proofing an international company operations division as part of a broader organisational transformation.

Remit challenge:
The Operations Execs demanded extensive sector experience in accelerating change, and needed this leader to balance operational performance, employee engagement, and organizational change across global sites without impacting production volumes or quality.  Despite a well-resourced HR function, leadership development and succession planning had not been strategic priorities, nor was there alignment between HR and business objectives.  The ideal candidate needed to have executive gravitas, proven experience supporting complex, matrixed, international operations, and the potential to serve as a midterm successor to the current CHRO.

Hiring Challenges:
Hiring needed to be effected urgently given the incumbent’s unexpected retirement and a pressing commercial need to drive transformation. A global search was essential given the variety of jurisdictional knowledge required for this role, and the base location was limited to a rural location on the USA East Coast.

Solution:
Carter Morris delivered four highly qualified candidates within 13 days through targeted outreach across national and global HR leadership networks. All candidates were regarding by the hiring execs as being exceptional for culture fit, commercial acumen, and expertise to be successful in this role.  A successful employment offer was extended within 7 weeks of us commencing this search, with no protracted negotiations or complications. The appointee is now fully settled, performing effectively, and receiving mentoring to position them as a viable successor to the current CHRO.
