Talent Management Leader - remote work - North America

ROLE FILLED - HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT OFFER

This recently appointed CHRO is needing to add expertise into the HR function of this small but global company, to deliver on an agenda of investing in workforce capabilities.

As a result, we’re seeking a leader who own accountability for Talent Management and Learning initiatives, tools and frameworks, that will help drive a company culture for ongoing innovation whilst fulfilling the skill and career development ambitions of their workforce.

Whilst managing a small team, this person will need to design and deliver strategies that span technical training, competency frameworks, succession planning, cross functional and cross cultural learning, graduate induction, mentoring, leadership development, internships and more.

The workforce is scattered over various locations in the USA, Canada and Europe; many of whom are working remotely. To date, they’ve had limited exposure to formal learning, career development and talent management programs. However they clearly have an appetite for these that we expect may quickly exceed the ability to supply - a nice problem for this talent management and learning team to be tackling!

With significant numbers of the workforce being made up of technical, engineering and commercial sales specialists, the provision of robust and relevant Talent Management planning plus L&D support will be a key advantage for talent attraction, retention and ongoing engagement, in a highly competitive employment market.

This is a data-driven commercial environment where ROI is key, so we need a professional who can influence through analytics rather than pure emotion; and who can comfortably anticipate measurable commercial improvements as a result of Talent Management and Learning interventions.

Key at all times will be the tailoring of regional frameworks whilst ensuring global consistency, fairness, efficiency and transparency.

Our ideal professional will have a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of multinational companies with a first-hand understanding of what “great” Talent Management plus Learning & Development can comprise.  But this professional will have also had first-hand experience of the “getting stuck in” element that is part of any small but dynamic organisation experiencing year on year growth.

Advanced commercial acumen will be critical, along with credible leadership presence, and the ability to deal with “now” as the constant deadline expectation!  This person will report into an inspiring and supportive CHRO, whilst providing strategic advice to business leaders and various HR partners.

Advanced written and verbal English will be essential and fluency for French will be welcomed, in addition to executive level presentation skills.

We will ideally base this role within either the USA or Canada. Regular travel into Chicago and Montreal will be expected to consolidate relationships with both the team reporting into this role, and with an array of other stakeholders. This role is only available to current US or Canadian citizens, or persons with current US or Canadian work visas.

Any experience in having lived and worked across multiple countries will be very highly regarded.  A base salary of circa USD 140,000 plus package are on offer with genuine options to progress laterally and vertically within the company.

Interested professionals can apply directly and in confidence via solutions@cartermorris.com and quoting reference CMTS00345.
