International Talent Acquisition Leader – UK or Switzerland

This global company continues to innovate for new products that are literally helping the wellbeing of people around the world.  They’ve invested heavily in research and product development which has meant a significant suite of products have successfully “gone to market” with a healthy pipeline of more to come.  They’ve also had a long span of buying other companies which has been great for accelerating growth and market share.

Now however, it is time to consolidate, reduce duplications, increase efficiency and achieve economies of scale. As a result, a wholesale transformation and reorganisation agenda is being rolled out globally, and we need an international TA leader to drive a change agenda that includes moving historic hiring services into an RPO, whilst continuing to ensure that day to day hiring needs are being anticipated and fulfilled.

This new TA leader will need to be engaging, credible and collaborative - able to inspire their own small team and an array of stakeholders across EMEA and APAC. Someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and get involved tactically when needed. An advanced ability to work through ambiguity and adapting to “changing goal posts” will be essential - we predict that (as with nearly all transformation projects of this size), company execs will likely reshape strategies and priorities unexpectedly and repeatedly!

Over 12,000 hires are being effected annually with a heavy emphasis on scientific and technical employee profiles. The company has been investing heavily in people and has done well for hiring historically given the extent of talent shortages globally for these niche skilled profiles. We anticipate that hiring numbers are likely to spike higher - this level of company reorganisation and upheaval isn’t for the faint hearted and regretted talent losses may result from change exhaustion - another challenge for this TA leader to plan for and overcome.

Despite this company and its acquisitions being well established in their industries, they don’t necessarily have maturity for organisational frameworks nor consistency of branding, and this far reaching change agenda will need a TA leader who has advanced storytelling skills, to help the company to continue to attract talent as an “employer of choice”.

We have a “wish list” of expertise required from this person given the high profile and succession plans for this role, inclusive of:

  •  Advanced English will be essential for both written and verbal presentations to Executive level leaders.

  • A track record of managing, developing and inspiring geographically scattered teams; along with successfully influencing and partnering with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Extensive history of managing RPO vendors, ideally with having transitioned them in, and out of TA delivery plans.

  • High comfort with data - the executive stakeholders are all keen for factual analysis to determine trends, risks, delivery performance, hiring quality and more, so your numeracy and analytics skills will need to be exceptional.

  • Ability to navigate successfully through a complex matrix environment with high levels of ambiguity.

  • Ideally first hand knowledge of the nuances of R&D and scientific workforces within the healthcare sector - whilst our hiring execs are open to an element of transferable skills, they don’t have the luxury of transitioning someone who isn’t already familiar with industry regulatory restrictions, industry jargon, and life impacting operational risks.

We have a some flexibility to base this role from within the UK or Switzerland. A base salary equivalent to £165,000 is on offer along with a hefty package of STIP, LTIP, and considerable additional benefits.
