Vice President, HR Operations - East Coast, USA
This global company develops products that enhance people’s wellbeing around the world. Years of strategic R&D investments and acquisitions have created a robust portfolio of offerings. Following multiple years of high growth and record revenues, the business is now entering a phase of organisational transformation, specifically to streamline processes, reduce duplications, boost efficiency, and realise economies of scale.
As a part of this transformation agenda, the HR function is focussed on upgrading service capabilities, achieving consistency, better employee experiences, and improvements in functional maturity, thus driving this need for a HR Operations leader.
This role will report into the CHRO, and will lead a team to be accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of HR operations and employee experiences globally. Success will be measured by improvements to:
operational excellence,
accurate, timely, compliant people service
advancing best‑in‑class, digitally enabled employee experiences that are globally consistent whilst tailored to the nuances of specific regions and cultures.
This role will particularly suit a leader who knows how utilise resources to deliver solutions and services, without themselves being caught up “in the weeds” to effect results. A leader with the ability to successfully juggle large numbers of projects of varying sizes, without over committing or repeatedly falling victim to scope blowouts! A leader who has exceptional consultation skills to understand what initiatives will bring the most value both short and long term, in order to be deemed as viable and commercial successes by key HR stakeholders and the broader business; and to provide “future state” frameworks that will accommodate continued company growth.
This is an ideal role for the professional who loves applying their broad HR expertise to know what questions to ask, to understand where surprises may be lurking, to appreciate and find harmony for conflicting agendas and priorities from an array of vested interest stakeholders!
Our ideal professional will have:
Strong working knowledge of the full generalist span of HR, to help know the “knock on” implications of any functional changes
A track record of achieving global HR process efficiency complete with tailoring for local market requirements
A history of achieving HR data quality and consistency - this company has grown rapidly over time so you can expect to inherit a variety of information sources of varying quality
Ability to inspire and lead a team - with both direct and indirect reports around the world reporting into this person, we need a track record for successful team development and resource maximisation
Demonstrated success for harnessing virtual resources - this person will be regularly working through a variety of stakeholders inclusive of HR peers, Business Leaders, other corporate functions and external vendors; and will need to engage, advocate, and secure sponsorship if changes are to be embedded into the company culture
Exceptional project management skills, with a need to identify both current and future business needs and plan accordingly
Ideally, a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of global companies, preferably during times of extreme re-organisation
First-hand experience of the “getting stuck in” element that is part of any dynamically growing organisation.
Direct expertise for the due diligence and integration activities that accompany M&A events will be well regarded
Advanced communication and presentation skills - with a need to influence and support the C-Suite right from the outset.
In return, there is significant budget responsibility for this role, a high appetite for change from company executives, and the underlying satisfaction that comes from working in a mission driving organisation that is literally saving lives.
This professional will need to be based near one of the organisations East Coast locations. The role will require, well planned travel across the US and internationally to strengthen relations with both the team reporting into this position and with a broad range of additional stakeholders
The role offers a competitive and negotiable package, with a base salary from US$330,000 plus STIP, LTIP and a range of benefits
