US Immigration & Global Mobility Leader - chance to help build a world class function
We’re seeking a Global Mobility leader for one of our "hyper -growth" employers. This is a well-resourced company that has grown from 1 to many thousands of employees in just 6 years! With continued and aggressive growth plans, the company requires ongoing transfer of existing staff into long term postings and short term secondments within multiple geographies. Additionally, there is a need for external hires to be moved to jurisdictions outside of their home countries.
As a result, we need a specialist with extensive experience on US immigration laws - we’re moving people from around the world into that market, and moving US citizens away from their home countries and into new jurisdictions for secondment assignments and projects.
This is a high profile role that will directly contribute to company growth success. If you've ever wanted to work in the chaos and ambiguity of a quasi-startup, and directly contribute to the development of a world-class mobility function then this could be the role for you.
This person will be working immediately with a newly appointed VP of Global Mobility, with a need to redefine and create all process, policy and frameworks that will scale with the company’s ongoing expansion. Additionally, this person will need to successfully partner with, and in some instances mentor, a team of mobility experts across multiple geographies.
Despite the success of this multi-million revenues company, the culture remains highly entrepreneurial , so a focus on "can do" solutions and a "yesterday" level of speed will be essential. This role will suit a professional who has the courage and expertise to build a world class function that enables, rather than hampering mobility with unnecessary bureaucracy.
We are really seeking a thought leader - someone with a track record for technical knowledge across all aspects of mobility, but who has a flair for creating new frameworks to enable a higher standard of international assignments policy and process and experience. Someone who has mobility expertise beyond simply taxation advice and relocation support. This is still a young company who have no interest in corporate bureaucracy, and our executive team are keen to ensure their mobility programs are “cutting edge” and appealing to a variety of generations, ethnicity, and family structures.
We have additional hiring criteria to share, but at a minimum our successful leader will offer:
Expert knowledge and first hand experience of North American cross border employment law and work visa requirements
A track record of enabling business actions, with a minimum of fuss and disruption
Proven consistency in achieving accuracy and compliance
A history of successfully presenting mobility strategies to executive level stakeholders
Natural comfort for achieving data quality and consistency - this company has grown rapidly over a short span of time so you can expect to inherit a variety of legacy Excel spreadsheets!
Exceptional project management skills, with a need to identify both current and future trends for mobility and working practices within both the USA and around the world
Ideally, a history of working successfully across the complicated matrix of global, international companies, but also first-hand experience of the “getting stuck in” element that is part of any dynamic, rapid growth, constantly changing organisation.
Fluent English for written and verbal communication and presentation skills
We have good flex on salary & package, and will likely base this role from New Delhi - our Global Mobility VP and CHRO travel extensively to this hub site and would love to secure a leader who has a personal history of having lived and worked abroad extensively. A professional who continues to offer ongoing personal mobility will be highly regarded.
This is a salaried, career role that will require regular international travel so a current passport will be essential. Unfortunately, career contractors will not be considered at this time.
