Senior Vice President Global HR - Boston MA - from USD 330,000 + Executive Package

HIGH PERFORMANCE LEADER COMMENCED AFTER SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT OFFER

This multinational employer will be seeking someone with 20+ years’ experience & well-rounded HR expertise, ideally with direct exposure to international workforces across multiple continents.  This will be the most senior person in HR for a business division with over 5 billion in revenues, and the division is particularly complicated with many, many legal entity companies falling under its “umbrella”.

This person will be supporting a Business President and will be a key member of the division’s global executive team; as well as being a key advisor to the Global CHRO on global strategy.   In fact, given the size of the division and the scope of this role, this person will have many CHRO level accountabilities for delivery and performance!

There is a large global HR function to be led, with highly accomplished HR VP’s and HR Directors reporting in; and this person will need to be an inspiring role model whilst providing support in mentoring, coaching and upskilling current HR team capability.  Additionally, this person will have access to all the HR resources within the parent corporation, including some well-established CoE's for deep technical expertise.

This role is fully accountable to set and deliver on a tailored HR strategy with a global growth agenda.  The division, and the parent company continue to grow through acquisition and new product development and they’re on track to add 50% in revenues and headcount in the next handful of years!  To date, whilst the business growth has been consistently high, HR frameworks haven’t kept up with that pace, so many aspects need to be revamped across areas like reward, talent, succession planning & more.  Additionally, with the resources of the parent corporation fully available, a more aggressive approach to growth could be easily undertaken, as could better operating efficiencies in order to maximise profits.

MBA’s and PhD’s abound, and I expect this workforce will provide many challenges to change given the level of expertise they have in their own core niches.  Certainly a key challenge will be fostering ongoing creativity and innovation and entrepreneurialism; tempered with more robust and sustainable frameworks in a regularly environment with heavy compliance needs.  This is also the kind of workforce who are influenced by data and number and logical, factual reasoning, rather than emotion, so this leader will need to be up to date on tech and comfortable with analytics!

The global leadership team has undergone significant change through a period of intensive acquisitions, so a focus on executive coaching and reward for performance will be a priority in this role; along with advising on organizational design and culture harmonization.  Knowledge sharing and coaching leaders on enabling others (instead of being top down directors) would also be a focus for this person.

Whilst this role is within a multinational company, this Divisional Business President is actually located in Boston so ideally this person will be based there. This is a high profile role, and success will certainly provide many ongoing development & progression opportunities within other divisions of the parent corporation around the world; and/or as the successor to the current CHRO.

English is the company language, international country markets exposure will be essential, and a strong track record for full HR accountability within similar revenue size and complexity of business will be key.

Preference will be given to professionals who have worked in the sectors of medical devices, med-tech, pharma, clinical research or biotech and/or who have worked across the full lifecycle of product (rather than service) businesses with similarly large revenues and global headcount.

A stable, salaried career history that shows clear career progression will be well regarded.  This person will likely be perceived as a commercially astute business leader who just happens to be a HR specialist.  This role is only available to US citizens or current US work visa holders.

Relocation support is available and regular domestic and long haul travel should be expected.

Base salary starting from USD 330,000 plus performance heavy STIP, LTIP and executivebenefits are on offer as part of a highly competitive package.
